Welcome to Vistas de Pasaj Cap in San Marcos la Laguna
We are offering to our guests an unforgettable stay within an exceptional natural area providing them with comfortable, ecological and high standard housing facilities as well as an excellent service.
Situated on the shore of the fantastic lake Atitlan, Vistas de Pasajcap is the result of the meeting between a designer from Guatemala City, a former United Nations officer and a Maya Kaqchikel community.
One of the main purpose behind this ecological housing project is to contribute to the generation of permanent workplaces for people of the local community and to promote the links between the guests and their human environment during their stay.
Vistas de Pasajcap was built on a 3000 square meter land and includes 5 different housing facilities on independent terraces, all the constructions are looking toward South.
“La Casa” was designed by a Spanish architect specialized in the use of the adobe. It includes a big living room, a kitchen, a mezzanine, 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms. There is also a sauna and an outdoor shower. It’s designed for 1 to 5 persons.
The Casita "Maguey" was also built with adobe and includes a dining room, kitchen, mezzanine, bathroom and a big under roof terrace. The garden is a very nice place for a rest a snap in the afternoon with its hammocks. It’s designed for 1 to 2 persons.
The Studio "Jocote" has a large room with a romantic bathroom and a big under roof terrace as well as a small outdoor kitchen. There is also a nice garden where the view to the lake from the hammocks is just amazing. It’s a perfect place to stay for 1 or 2 persons.
The Studio “Jacaranda” we tried to put in it most of the lessons learned in the past 10 years since the opening of our resort. It’s probably the most successful in term of accommodation, view, comfort…for a single guest or for a couple.
The Studio "Sol & Luna" is the newest construction at Vistas de Pasajcap. A beautiful bedroom with a bathroom, terrace and garden. This studio can be reserved with any of the other accommodations to
The 5 places are fully furnished.
A maid works at Vistas de Pasajcap from 8 am to 4 pm. It is at the service of "La Casa" from 9am to 12pm only if the guest wishes.
In the casitas she is from 12 pm once a week to do the cleaning service, and change of sheets, towels and kitchen cleaners.
The land is planted with lemon, tangerine and orange trees. The access to the lake is through a private trail between pine trees.
Vistas de Pasajcap is located 1.5 kms from San Marcos downtown in a quite virgin area where many villagers have their fields with their traditional crops : corn, beans, coffee and jocote (a delightful local fruit) trees.
The spot is exactly in front of the 3 volcanoes : Atitlan, Toliman and San Pedro.
The place can be accessed by vehicle from kilometer 148 of the Inter-American Highway or by boat from Panajachel. In this case, the easiest thing is to get off at the public docks, either San Marcos or Tzununá, and take a tuc-tuc to get to "Vistas de Pasajcap".
It’s difficult to find words to describe the exceptional views of the lake and the volcanoes from here. Swimming in the lake (between 20°C and 24°C depending the time of the year) is an incredible experience, particularly in the mornings.
San Marcos la Laguna remains a very quiet and peaceful village where security concerns are minors. Vistas de Pasajcap has collaborators who are from the two neighboring communities, well known and appreciated locally.
